Joint Council

The Joint Council is one of the oldest and largest child welfare organizations, Joint Council on International Children’s Services is the lead voice on inter country children’s services. With a mission to advocate on behalf of children in need of permanent, safe and loving families, Joint Council promotes ethical child welfare practices, strengthens professional standards and educates adoptive families, social service professionals and government representatives throughout the world. International child welfare agencies, child advocacy groups, parent support groups and international medical clinics choose membership in Joint Council as a means to address the critical issue of parent less children and creating permanent solutions.

Right now, they are working on getting the new memorandum in place to open Vietnam back up to the US for international adoptions. You can find out more information and what you can do to help by visiting their website. http://www.jcics.org/Vietnam.htm This may not help us get Nieman but it will help future families who want to adopt from Vietnam to be able to do so.

People are always telling me I should call different government officials to help with our adoption but this is something you guys can do to help other families and maybe us down the road.

Merry Christmas if I don't post before then.
