Matched!!!!!!

We have received a match for a child, a little boy to be exact. We received a call from the agency asking if we were willing to accept a match for a little boy from the Bac Lieu providence (a lower providence). He was abandoned by his mother or birth parents. He was born 5/2007, so he will turn one sometime this month. We don't have the exact date for his birth. The agency can't give you a lot of information at "match". He was thought to have some vision problems when he was first found and checked over. The agency has taken him to an ophthalmologist in Hanoi and the Dr stated that there was nothing wrong with his eyes that would require surgery but that he may need glasses later on in life. How cute would it be if he looked like Aiden from John and Kate + 8. I would melt.

Chris and I accepted the match and waited 2 weeks before we decide to spread the news. The first letter went out to the PDOJ (Provincial Department of Justice) that a family (us) has accepted him as a prospective adoptive child. It came back already and now it goes to the CCC (Child Care Center) asking for the referral. We hope it get the referral at the end of June, if all goes well.

After we get the referral, travel should happen anywhere from 4-5 months later. We hope to have him home by Christmas. Merry Christmas to all!!
